Gallery: CWAO's first Mass March
On Saturday 17 over 200 labour broker workers under CWAO banners marched on the labour court, the department of labour and the Road Freight Bargaining Council in Braamfontien. The purpose of the march was to deliver a memorandum drafted by workers themselves, in which they rejected the reactionary Brassey judgement. Also contained in the document was a list of demands namely that the National Road Freight Bargaining Council give workers set down dates for their cases. The council has long delayed labour broker workers the right to be made permanent and receive the same benefits and wages as permanent workers. The department of labour and the labour court refused to accept the memorandum. However the National Secretary of the Road Freight Council Musa Ndlovu was on hand to receive the demands.
