In this last episode of the series, we looked at how bosses have tried to get around the law. As well as the difficulty that workers face to become permanent due to the weakness of the law, the anti-worker politics of the CCMA and the problems of the Labour Court. In this episode we focus on the history of workers and the similarities of pre-colonial workers vs workers today. We also take a look at the realities of workers who belong to trade unions who explain the importance of organising in the workplace.

In this episode, we discuss how bosses have evaded the legal requirement in existence since 2015 to appoint labour broker workers permanently after three months in the company. We will also look at the 2018 Constitutional Court decision which clearly stated that temporary employment services should be genuinely temporary, and that temporary workers placed by labour brokers at a company are automatically deemed permanent after three months of service.
