Simunye Workers Forum and community members are currently protesting outside global giant pallet and container-maker company, Chep, in Alrode, Alberton, demanding that the striking workers of Chep in Jet Park, Gauteng, are made permanent.
Some have been casuals for 18 years.
Chep is owned by Australian Brambles, a multi-billion dollar company.
The workers have been on strike since 21 August 2025.
